Two women arrested after 8-year-old boy found dead in attic, stuffed inside trash bag

Mother of Missing 32-Year-Old Martonio Wilder Reports His Disappearance; Two Women Surrender to Police

The mother of 32-year-old Martonio Wilder reported to Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant on Friday night that her son had not been seen since going to bed the previous evening. Tragically, Martonio was discovered dead in a trash bag in the home’s attic, and two women, Lashanda Wilder and Johnna Lowe, have voluntarily surrendered to local authorities and are now in custody.

Lowe is charged with impeding justice, while Wilder faces charges of murder and obstruction of justice. The incident unfolded when officers arrived at Wilder’s residence and grew suspicious of foul play. Drones and a helicopter were deployed to search for the missing child, but Wilder became uncooperative when a K-9 cadaver dog was brought in to search the house.

After leaving her two other children, King Wilder and Mikhael Simon, with Lowe’s mother, Wilder and Lowe departed. Martonio Wilder’s body was found later that evening, prompting an AMBER Alert for Wilder and her two children. Thankfully, they were found safe at a family member’s house.

Neighbors remember Martonio as a kind young man who adored animals. The community is shaken by this tragic event, with one neighbor expressing disbelief stating, “He should be right here playing, but instead he’s up in heaven.” The investigation into Martonio Wilder’s death is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the cause of his death.
