NBC Sports and Peacock Report Record-Breaking English Premier League Season Scores

The Premier League continues to be a major success story for NBCUniversal as the world’s most watched soccer league broke records for viewership during the 2023-24 season. According to NBCU, the last season of the Premier League saw record ratings on NBC, Peacock, and USA Network.

NBC Sports reported an average of 546,000 viewers per TV match window for the 2023-24 season, making it the most-watched Premier League season ever in the U.S. This marked a 4% increase from the previous season and surpassed the previous record set in 2015-16.

The intense title race between Arsenal and Manchester City kept fans engaged until the final games of the season, culminating in “Championship Sunday” where all 10 Premier League games kicked off simultaneously. The collective viewership for this day reached nearly 3 million across various NBC platforms.

The 2023-24 season also saw six of the seven most-watched Premier League matches in U.S. history, with the Manchester City-Arsenal showdown drawing a record 2.12 million viewers in March. Peacock, the streaming service, exceeded 1 million viewers for a match for the first time last season and set a record for the Arsenal-Liverpool game.

Overall, Peacock exclusive matches accounted for the top three and eight of the nine most-streamed Premier League matches ever in the U.S. NBC Sports’ exclusive U.S. rights to the Premier League have been a significant investment, with a current contract valued at $2.7 billion through the end of the 2027-28 season.

The success of the Premier League on NBC platforms highlights the growing popularity of soccer in the U.S. and the dedicated fan base supporting the league’s exciting matches.
