Canadian TikTok Stars and MADE | NOUS Ambassadors Shine Light on Canadian Media Worth Watching

MADE | NOUS Ambassadors Promoting Canadian Entertainment on TikTok

The Canada Media Fund (CMF) is making waves in the world of Canadian entertainment with their new initiative, MADE | NOUS. This program features a group of social media influencers known as ambassadors who are using platforms like TikTok to showcase and promote Canadian content.

Liz Duff and Haley Robinson, two of the ambassadors, found themselves drawn to TikTok during the COVID-19 pandemic and used this platform to create content for MADE | NOUS. Duff, also known as “Producer Liz,” used her background as a producer to create engaging videos that introduced many people to Canadian media. Robinson, who comes from a background in musical theatre, embraced TikTok trends and found a community of like-minded individuals online.

The goal of MADE | NOUS is to challenge the stereotype that Canadian TV and movies are not as high quality as their U.S. counterparts. By partnering with social media influencers, they are able to showcase the talent and creativity present in the Canadian entertainment industry.

The ambassadors each bring their unique perspective to the content they create, with Robinson focusing on representation and Duff taking a genuine approach to their work. Both have had exciting experiences as part of the program, from attending events during the Emmy week to conducting interviews with well-known figures in the industry.

As they continue to create and promote Canadian content, Duff and Robinson have their eyes on shows like “Very Important People” and “Run The Burbs,” highlighting the innovative and diverse offerings of the Canadian entertainment scene. Through their work, they hope to educate and inspire audiences to explore and appreciate the wealth of Canadian talent in the entertainment industry.
