USA vs. Bangladesh warm-up match called off due to inclement weather | Cricket News

T20 World Cup warm-up match between USA and Bangladesh in Dallas called off due to weather conditions

The T20 World Cup warm-up match between the USA and Bangladesh in Dallas was called off on Tuesday due to inclement weather conditions, leaving both squads stranded at their hotels. The heavy downpour and potential flood risks forced the cancellation of the match at the Grand Prairie Stadium.

Rabeed Iman, Bangladesh’s team manager, confirmed the news stating, “This is to confirm that the warm-up match between Bangladesh and the USA at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas today has been cancelled due to the conditions of the facilities following the adverse weather that has affected the area.” The cancellation came as a disappointment for both teams as they prepare for the T20 World Cup scheduled to kick off on June 1.

The match was crucial for both teams to understand the nature of the playing surface, especially since USA and Bangladesh are set to open their respective campaigns in Dallas. USA will face Canada on June 1, while Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka on June 7.

Before the warm-up game was called off, USA had secured a historic 2-1 series win over Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series. This victory marked the first win for USA against Bangladesh, as well as any full member ICC side, showcasing the team’s potential ahead of the World Cup.

As the T20 World Cup approaches, both squads will be looking to regroup and focus on their upcoming fixtures. The Bangladesh squad includes players like Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman, while USA boasts talents like Corey Anderson and Ali Khan. The teams will be eager to make an impact in the tournament and aim for success on the global stage.
