Former Tripura Players Selected in USA Team for T20 World Cup, One to Play for Kenya: Tripura Cricket Association’s Jayanta Dey

Former Tripura players Milind Kumar and Harmeet Singh have made it to the USA’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. The news was confirmed by Jayanta Dey, the Joint Secretary of Tripura Cricket Association, who expressed pride in the players’ journey from representing the state in domestic cricket to now playing on the international stage.

Both Kumar and Singh, who previously played for the Tripura Ranji team, have now permanently shifted to the USA in search of better opportunities. Additionally, another former Tripura player, Tanmay Mishra, has been selected to play for the Kenya national team due to his dual citizenship of India and Kenya.

Kumar and Singh’s impressive performances in the domestic circuit have earned them a spot in the USA’s T20I team for the World Cup, which is set to begin on June 2 in the USA and the West Indies. The US team will face India on June 12 in what promises to be an exciting match.

Harmeet Singh, who played a vital role in India’s 2012 Australian Under-19 World Cup-winning squad, has now become a key player for the USA team. Jayanta Dey highlighted the players’ contributions to the Tripura Ranji team and their subsequent success in international cricket.
