NBC Sports sets new record with highest US viewership for Premier League

Record-Breaking Premier League Coverage in the United States for the 2023/24 Season

The Premier League has taken the United States by storm, with the 2023/24 season breaking records for viewership and engagement. NBC Sports reported record-breaking coverage, with the final day of the season attracting the highest number of viewers in US history.

The “Championship Sunday” event, where all 10 matches were played simultaneously, drew a Total Audience Delivery of 2.9 million viewers across NBC’s platforms. This season, NBC Sports averaged 546,000 viewers per TV match window, marking a four percent increase from the previous season.

Notably, six of the seven most-watched Premier League matches in US history occurred during the 2023/24 season, with the Manchester City vs. Arsenal game in March topping the charts with over 2 million viewers. Peacock, NBC’s streaming service, also saw record numbers, with matches involving Liverpool and Manchester United drawing over a million viewers each.

The engagement on social media was also at an all-time high, with the NBC Sports Soccer accounts experiencing a significant increase in video views and overall engagement. The Premier League Mornings Live fan festival in Nashville attracted a record attendance of over 15,500 supporters, with various celebrities and former players in attendance.

Overall, the Premier League’s popularity in the US continues to grow, with fans eagerly embracing the excitement and drama of the English top-flight football league.
