Global Survey Reveals Most Popular K-pop Artists Worldwide in 2024

The South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has unveiled the most popular K-pop artists globally in a recent global survey that spanned 26 countries. The survey targeted individuals aged 15 to 59 who have been exposed to K-culture, revealing surprising results that are sure to shake up the K-pop scene.

In China, the list didn’t feature BTS as expected, but instead highlighted artists like IU, G-dragon, EXO, and BLACKPINK. Meanwhile, in Japan and Taiwan, BTS, Blackpink, and Twice remained popular choices, with interesting entries from rookie groups like LE SSERAFIM in Japan and (G)I-DLE in Taiwan.

India and the US showcased similar preferences, with dominant names like BTS, Blackpink, Jungkook, IU, PSY, and G-dragon reigning supreme in both markets. Solo artists like V and Jimin also made an impact in India, while the US introduced rookie group NewJeans to its lineup.

The global statistics showed BTS leading with 29.1%, followed by BLACKPINK at 13.1%, and other artists like Psy, Jungkook, and IU making their mark as well. The survey highlighted the immense popularity of K-pop across different regions, showcasing the global impact of the Hallyu wave.
