Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi Dead Following Helicopter Crash

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has tragically passed away in a helicopter crash, as reported by Iranian state media on Monday morning. The crash also claimed the lives of the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs and others onboard.

The helicopter carrying the officials crashed in a rural mountainous area near Kalibar and Warzghan in northern Iran. The Red Crescent confirmed the location of the helicopter, which was initially reported to have made a “hard landing.” Unfortunately, there were no signs of life.

Search and rescue operations were launched soon after the incident, with numerous teams deployed to the area despite challenging weather conditions. Former Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif pointed to U.S. sanctions on Iranian aviation as a contributing factor to the crash.

International support poured in, with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Turkish Defense Ministry sending rescuers and equipment to assist in the search efforts. Iranian officials and world leaders expressed their condolences and offered prayers for the safe return of the victims.

The Iranian government described the incident as an “accident,” and search efforts are ongoing. The nation mourns the loss of President Raisi and those who perished in this tragic event.
