Blue Bloods Spinoff Delayed as CBS Studios President Takes Time to Develop Next Iteration
“Blue Bloods Spinoff Delayed: Fans Will Have to Wait Longer for Highly Anticipated Series”
Fans of the hit show Blue Bloods will have to exercise a bit more patience as the long-planned spinoff has been delayed. CBS Studios president David Stapf revealed in an interview with Deadline that while the spinoff is beloved, they are taking their time to ensure they get it right. Stapf stated, “We’ve got to get it right so we’re taking our time and trying to figure it out, okay, what is the next iteration of Blue Bloods?”
The announcement comes after CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach and Stapf confirmed in November 2023 that the show would not continue beyond season 14. The news left fans saddened, as Blue Bloods has been a staple on Friday nights with an exceptional fan base.
Series star Tom Selleck, who plays Commissioner Frank Reagan, expressed his gratitude for the show, stating, “For the past 13 years, it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also displayed the importance of family.”
With the first half of the final season already concluded earlier this year, fans can look forward to the final eight episodes airing this fall. While the delay may be disappointing, Paramount Global co-CEO Brian Robbins hinted at a possible return during a recent shareholders’ meeting, offering a glimmer of hope for loyal Blue Bloods fans.
As the beloved show continues to make waves in the entertainment industry, fans eagerly anticipate the future developments of the Blue Bloods franchise. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated spinoff series.
