Bella Hadid seeks legal representation following criticism of controversial Adidas ad campaign

Bella Hadid Embroiled in Controversy with Adidas Campaign: Legal Action Pursued Amid Criticism

Model Bella Hadid is at the center of a storm after Adidas released a campaign linked to the tragic events of the 1972 Munich Olympics. The advertisement for their SL 72 footwear, first designed for athletes at the Munich Olympics, sparked controversy due to the terror attack during that event in which 11 Israeli athletes and a German police officer were killed by a Palestinian militant group.

The Palestinian-American model, who has been known for her pro-Palestinian stance, found herself in hot water as many criticized the campaign for its insensitivity given the current Israeli-Palestinian tensions. Bella, who remains under contract with Adidas, distanced herself from the controversy, claiming she was unaware of the campaign’s connection to the Munich Olympics when she posed for it.

As the backlash against the campaign grew, Adidas issued a public apology, stating that the connection was unintentional and pledging to revise the campaign. However, this was not sufficient for Bella, who reportedly hired lawyers to explore her legal options against the company.

The situation escalated further when both the Israeli government and the American Jewish Committee condemned Adidas for choosing Bella as the face of the campaign, citing her past remarks that they deemed anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic. They called on Adidas to rectify their mistake and address the issue.

In response to the growing controversy, Bella Hadid and Adidas were contacted for comments. The model is gearing up for a legal battle to defend herself against the allegations that have tarnished her public image amid the ongoing backlash over the controversial campaign.
