In a recent interview with Galatta India, Zaheer Iqbal and Sonakshi Sinha were in for a surprise when an audio clip of Zaheer’s parents expressing their happiness and blessings for the couple was played. Zaheer’s mother, overwhelmed with joy, referred to Sonakshi as their daughter now and expressed how happy they were to have her in the family. His father also gave his blessings and best wishes to the newlyweds, emphasizing that he couldn’t think of anyone better for Zaheer.

The couple had initially contemplated a foreign wedding, as revealed in the interview. Zaheer shared his desire to elope for a small and intimate ceremony, but was surprised to learn that such weddings are not valid in India. Sonakshi, on the other hand, always wanted a private wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family members, which was exactly how their special day turned out.

The newlyweds also shared their nervousness when they informed Sonakshi’s father, legendary actor Shatrughan Sinha, about their relationship. However, they were pleasantly surprised by his warm and supportive reaction. Zaheer described Shatrughan Sinha as genuine, chilled out, and one of the sweetest persons he has met, while Sonakshi admitted to being nervous yet relieved at her father’s acceptance.

The couple’s grand reception, held at Mumbai’s Bastian restaurant, was attended by several well-known personalities from the film industry, adding to the joyous celebrations of Sonakshi and Zaheer’s union.
