Woman Stabbed and Nearly Thrown Over Railing at Miami International Airport
The Miami International Airport was thrown into chaos late Saturday night when a woman was repeatedly stabbed and nearly thrown over a railing in the lobby, according to reports. The horrifying attack took place in the international greeters lobby around 11:30 p.m., leaving the unidentified woman in critical condition.
Despite the disturbing incident, airport officials assured the public that the situation was quickly under control and that the safety of passengers, staff, and visitors remained their top priority. Authorities responded promptly, containing the situation swiftly.
During the unprovoked attack, an adult man attempted to throw the woman over a fourth-floor railing that overlooked Concourse J. The woman managed to escape and seek refuge on the third floor until first responders arrived.
The male suspect was taken into custody, and a knife was recovered nearby. Bystanders provided assistance to the injured woman until EMS arrived, as captured in video footage posted on social media.
Despite the chaos, airport operations were “briefly disrupted” but have since returned to normal. It is still unclear why the man and woman were at the airport and whether they were travelers or employees. Additionally, police received false reports of an active shooter at the airport around the same time as the stabbing, further adding to the confusion.
The Miami International Airport had already faced challenges earlier that week, with a shutdown caused by a faulty software update from US cybersecurity company CrowdStrike. The update led to crashes in Microsoft Windows computers, causing disruptions for millions of businesses worldwide. The airport had to cancel 44 flights and delay 169 others due to the software issue.
As the investigation into the stabbing continues, passengers and airport personnel at Miami International Airport remain on edge following the disturbing incident.
