U.S. News & World Report Ranks Hospitals for 2024-2025: Cleveland Clinic Dominates with Top Honors
In a recent report released by U.S. News & World Report for 2024-2025, Northeast Ohio residents are said to have access to some of the best medical care in the country. The report highlights the best hospitals nationwide, aiming to assist patients in finding the best local care and consulting with top doctors. The rankings include the best hospitals for complex care, frequently treated procedures and conditions, regional hospitals, and maternity care.
Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News, emphasized the importance of making informed decisions when choosing a hospital. “Choosing the right hospital to match your needs shouldn’t be a guessing game,” he stated in a prepared statement. “The 2024-2025 edition of Best Hospitals provides patients and their families clear, data-driven insights on hospital performance and empowers Americans to choose the facility best suited to their specific health care needs.”
Cleveland Clinic, a renowned medical center, was listed on the U.S. News and Report Best Hospitals Honor Roll, recognizing the Top 20 hospitals in the country out of 5,000 medical centers. Cleveland Clinic earned 13 national rankings for specialty care and is rated high performing in 19 out of 20 conditions evaluated by U.S. News.
Some highlights of Cleveland Clinic’s national rankings include being ranked No. 1 for cardiovascular, heart, and vascular surgery, No. 14 for cancer, No. 16 for orthopedics, and more. Additionally, Cleveland Clinic is rated No. 1 in Ohio and No. 1 in Cleveland regionally.
In comparison, UH Cleveland Medical Center ranks No. 3 in Ohio and No. 2 in Cleveland. Nationally, UH is ranked No. 35 for cancer, No. 45 for neurology and neurosurgery, and No. 49 for ear, nose, and throat specialties.
The report also provides insights into how hospitals in Stark County and Akron fare in the rankings. Aultman Hospital in Stark County is highlighted for being high performing in five adult procedures and conditions, while Cleveland Clinic Akron General ranks No. 5 in Ohio and is recognized for its performance in various specialties and procedures.
