Shannen Doherty Opens Up About Hesitation to Date Amid Cancer Battle

Shannen Doherty, known for her roles in popular shows like Beverly Hills, 90210, has revealed her hesitation to start dating again as she battles stage 4 cancer. In a candid conversation with Kelly Ripa on her podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera, Doherty expressed concerns about whether men would want to date her knowing about her health condition.

“Listen, I think it’s hard for somebody like me, in my personal opinion, because it’s hard to go into dating someone when you know that they might have an expiration date,” she shared during the podcast.

Doherty also discussed the challenges she faces due to her surgeries, expressing, “I’m a little self-conscious, because I have so many scars from surgery that it’s like, how do you explain that ‘No, that isn’t from giving birth, that’s from reconstruction surgery.”

The actress, who has been battling cancer since 2015 and went into remission in 2017 before the cancer returned in 2020, opened up about the insecurities she has developed as a result of the surgeries.

Despite her health struggles, Doherty has maintained a positive outlook and has been vocal about her experiences. She recently filed for divorce from her estranged husband after 11 years of marriage.
