Scott Stapp of Creed Gives Fans a Backstage Pass to the Summer of 1999 Tour

Behind the Scenes with Creed on the Summer of ’99 Tour

Rock band Creed is making a comeback with their Summer of ’99 tour, and lead singer Scott Stapp is giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at life on the road. From strict morning routines to vocal warm-ups that sound like herding goats, Stapp shares the daily grind of being on tour.

Stapp, along with guitarist Mark Tremonti, drummer Scott Phillips, and bassist Brian Marshall, settle into their dressing room before each show, with Stapp preferring a steady supply of his favorite mocktail and healthy snacks. He also highlights the importance of a chill atmosphere, comfortable couches, and clean bathrooms for the band to unwind and prepare for the performance.

As they hit the stage, Stapp gets into the right headspace to deliver an energetic and impactful show. With each song holding special meaning, he looks forward to performing “With Arms Wide Open” the most, as it takes him back to becoming a dad and the love he feels for his children and grandson.

Despite the tour making stops in various cities with other popular bands, nothing will top the experience of playing at Woodstock ’99 for Stapp, where he got to perform with Robby Krieger from The Doors. However, he also reflects on the chaotic nature of the festival, which ended in a nightmare after Creed’s performance.

Tickets for the Summer of ’99 Tour are available now, offering fans a chance to see Creed live and experience a nostalgic trip back to the summer of 1999.
