Sarah Michelle Gellar Joins Dexter Prequel: Original Sin Star-Studded Cast
The upcoming Dexter prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin, has added another star to its already star-studded cast. Sarah Michelle Gellar, known for her iconic roles in shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will be playing Dexter’s new boss at the Miami Metro Police Department. Gellar took to Instagram to share her excitement about joining the show, promising fans a “bloody good ride.”
The new series, set in 1991, will focus on Dexter’s early days as a student transitioning into an avenging serial killer with the help of his father, Harry. Alongside Gellar, the cast includes Christian Slater, Patrick Dempsey, Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu, and Reno Wilson.
Dexter originally aired from 2006 to 2013 with Michael C. Hall in the titular role. After a spinoff titled New Blood in 2021, Showtime announced a new version following Dexter’s son, Harrison, played by Jack Alcott. The president of Paramount, Chris McCarthy, expressed his excitement about expanding the Dexter universe and exploring new storylines with complex and iconic characters.
