Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to Defend Title at King and Queen of the Ring
WWE fans were in for a surprise on Friday night as the contract signing for the main event of King and Queen of the Ring took an unexpected turn. Originally set to be a champion vs. champion match between Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul, things quickly went awry thanks to Paul’s shady tactics.
Paul and his lawyer presented SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis with a revised contract that stipulated only Rhodes’ undisputed WWE championship would be on the line. Despite Aldis contesting the change, Rhodes ultimately agreed to sign the amended contract. A heated exchange ensued, culminating in Rhodes taking out Paul and his entourage with a devastating powerbomb through a table.
The night also saw several exciting matches to determine the semifinalists in both the men’s and women’s King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. From Bianca Belair advancing to the Queen of the Ring semifinals to Randy Orton securing his spot in the King of the Ring semifinals, the action was non-stop at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.
Despite the unexpected twist in the main event, fans can still look forward to an electrifying showdown between Rhodes and Paul at King and Queen of the Ring on Saturday, May 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Stay tuned for more updates as the anticipation builds for this epic clash of champions.
