In the wake of a devastating tornado that tore through multiple states, reality TV stars Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard have confirmed that their immediate family is safe. The couple shared the good news in a joint statement on Sunday, May 26, while also revealing that some of their extended family members were affected by the natural disaster.

“Like most other people in our area of NW Arkansas/NE Oklahoma, we were awake through much of the night as tornadoes ripped through our area,” the couple shared on their Instagram Story. “Thankfully we are ok, but friends and some family weren’t so fortunate. We are praying for those affected. Tornadoes missed us by a few miles.”

The tornado left a trail of destruction and claimed the lives of at least 15 people in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. This comes as Jill and Derick have been dealing with their own personal tragedy, as they recently honored their stillborn daughter with a moving funeral service.

The couple shared photos from the memorial service for their baby girl, Isla Marie, on April 19. They captioned the images with heartfelt messages, expressing their love and remembrance for their daughter. The couple has also been commemorating Isla’s life through a burial service, as seen in more recent social media posts.

Jill and Derick, who share three sons together, have faced pregnancy losses in the past. They suffered a miscarriage before welcoming their youngest son, Freddy, in 2022. Earlier this year, they announced the stillbirth of Isla Marie, leaving them grieving the loss of their baby girl.

Despite the challenges they have faced, Jill and Derick remain resilient and grateful for the safety of their family in the aftermath of the tornado. Their story serves as a reminder of the strength and perseverance needed to navigate through life’s toughest moments.
