Jessica Alba Returns to Acting After Stepping Down at Honest Company
Jessica Alba is making a comeback to the silver screen after more than a decade of focusing on her successful Honest Company brand. Alba, 43, shared in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly that she is thrilled about this next chapter in her career.
Attending the Monster Jam World Finals XXIII with her three children at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, Alba opened up about stepping down from her role as chief creative officer at Honest Company to pursue her passion for acting once again. She expressed excitement about her upcoming action movie, “Trigger Warning,” set to release on Netflix on June 21st, where she also served as an executive producer.
This marks Alba’s return to the big screen after a long hiatus, with her last movie dating back to 2019. In “Trigger Warning,” she portrays a Special Forces commando investigating her father’s mysterious death in her hometown.
Alba founded Honest Company in 2012 after her own allergic reaction to mainstream laundry detergent during her first pregnancy. The company quickly grew in scope and value, with Alba even making Forbes’ list of richest self-made women in 2016 due to her stake in the business.
Despite the success, Honest Company faced its fair share of controversies, including accusations from Gwyneth Paltrow and lawsuits over product labeling. Despite these challenges, Alba remained dedicated to the company, calling it a “labor of love” in her resignation announcement last month.
As she embarks on this new phase of her career, Alba reflected on her journey with Honest Company, from pitching the concept to now stepping down from day-to-day operations. She expressed gratitude for the incredible ride and the support of her family throughout this journey.
Fans can look forward to seeing Jessica Alba back on the screen and follow her exciting new projects as she explores the possibilities of this next chapter in her professional life.
