Jared Padalecki Criticizes The CW for “Cheap Content” Strategy
Jared Padalecki, best known for his roles in “Gilmore Girls” and “Supernatural,” has made headlines once again. The actor recently criticized The CW for its “cheap content” strategy following the cancellation of his show, “Walker.”
Padalecki, who starred in the crime drama for four seasons, expressed his disappointment in an interview with Variety, where he stated, “They’re just changing the network around, where it’s not really going to be a TV network as much as it’s going to be, ‘Here’s something fun for an hour that you’ll never watch again, but hopefully you watch it. And it’s cheap!'”
The actor also took to social media to share the news of “Walker” getting canceled, saying, “It is with a heavy heart that I share this news with you. #Walker will not be airing on #CW for a fifth season.”
Despite the setback, Padalecki remains grateful for the experience and the “WalkerFamily” that was built both on and off set. The show, which premiered in 2021 as a reboot of “Walker, Texas Ranger,” featured Padalecki in the lead role of Cordell Walker.
As he navigates this career transition, Padalecki reflects on his own story and the value it holds. “I think, ironically, in trying to tell somebody else’s story for so long, I’ve realized that my story has value too,” he shared with Variety.
Fans of the actor and supporters of “Walker” are sure to be following Padalecki’s journey as he moves forward from this chapter in his career.
