Top NYC Hospitals Secure Spots on U.S. News and World Report’s Best Hospitals List
Three NYC Hospitals Among Top in the Nation on U.S. News and World Report’s Best Hospitals List
In a recent release of the U.S. News and World Report’s Best Hospitals list, three New York City hospitals have secured spots among the best in the country. The prestigious list, which evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals across various medical and surgical services, features the top 20 hospitals in the country on its Honor Roll for their exceptional excellence.
The NYC hospitals that made it onto the Honor Roll include Mount Sinai Hospital, New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell, and NYU Langone Hospitals. Additionally, North Shore University at Northwell Health in nearby Manhasset also received recognition on the list. These hospitals were commended for their outstanding performance in areas such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and level of nursing care.
According to Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News, the goal of the Best Hospitals list is to provide patients and their families with clear, data-driven insights to help them choose the best facility for their specific healthcare needs. The list aims to eliminate the uncertainty often associated with selecting a hospital by presenting objective measures of each hospital’s performance.
Robert Grossman, MD, and CEO of NYU Langone Health, expressed pride in the institution’s top ranking, highlighting the consistent high standard of care across all NYU Langone inpatient locations. Grossman emphasized the exceptional patient outcomes achieved at NYU Langone, with nine specialties ranking among the top five in the nation.
While being named on the Best Hospitals list is a significant accomplishment, U.S. News and World Report advises readers to view the list as a starting point and encourages them to make healthcare decisions in consultation with medical professionals. The recognition of these NYC hospitals on the national stage reaffirms the city’s standing as a hub for top-tier healthcare facilities.
