FIA denies McLaren’s appeal to review penalty for Lando Norris at US Grand Prix

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has rejected McLaren’s request to review the penalty handed to driver Lando Norris during the United States Grand Prix.

Norris was penalized for going off track and gaining an advantage during the race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The penalty dropped him from seventh to eighth place in the final standings.

McLaren had requested a review of the penalty, arguing that Norris did not gain a lasting advantage by going off track. However, the FIA has upheld the decision of the race stewards and confirmed that the penalty will stand.

The decision comes as a blow to McLaren, as Norris had put in a strong performance throughout the race and was on course for a top-five finish before the penalty was applied.

Despite the setback, Norris has remained positive and focused on the upcoming races in the Formula 1 calendar. McLaren will now have to regroup and strategize for the next race in Mexico City.

Fans of the sport are eagerly anticipating the next races, as the competition in the Formula 1 championship heats up. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
