Participants announced for 4th Tibor Junior International Violin Competition

The 4th Tibor Junior International Violin Competition is set to showcase the talents of young violinists aged between 14 and 17 in Sion, Switzerland from 19 to 24 August. The competition will feature participants from countries such as Switzerland, Bulgaria, Canada, Poland, Spain, China, the United States, France, Colombia, and South Korea.

The competition will have three rounds, with the final three finalists performing at the Théâtre de Valère accompanied by mezzo-soprano Marie-Claude Chappuis and the South Czech Philharmonic. The participants will be required to play works by Vivaldi, Paganini, and Arvo Pärt, among others.

Prizes for the competition include CHF5,000 for first place, CHF2,000 for second place, and CHF1,000 for third place. There will also be additional awards such as the audience prize and the Sion Violon Musique Foundation Prize.

With a prestigious jury consisting of renowned violinists and musicians, the 4th Tibor Junior International Violin Competition promises to be a spectacular showcase of young talent in the world of classical music.
