Billy Walters evaluates the US sports betting industry amidst regulatory concerns.

Renowned Sports Betting Expert Billy Walters Calls for Industry Reform and Transparency

Renowned sports betting expert Billy Walters has made waves in the industry with his strong criticisms of the US wagering landscape. Speaking at the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS), Walters did not hold back in highlighting areas that he believes need major improvement.

One key issue that Walters addressed was the lack of involvement of experienced bettors in regulatory and legislative discussions within the industry. According to Walters, the current market is controlled by a few entities, leading to a lack of transparency and fairness. He emphasized the importance of including those with firsthand knowledge of the sector in these important conversations.

Additionally, Walters took a stand against the practice of sportsbooks restricting successful bettors to protect their profits. He views this practice as unfair and is calling on state regulators to take action. Walters also expressed doubts about the role of European operators in the US market, suggesting they may not fully grasp the complexities of the local betting landscape.

In response to these concerns, Walters has teamed up with prominent bettor Gadoon “Spanky” Kyrollos to launch the American Bettors’ Voice. This nonprofit organization aims to advocate for a fairer betting market, with a focus on transparency, fairness, and customer protection. The initiative plans to tackle issues such as withdrawal times, dispute resolutions, and the transparency of gambling companies’ lobbying efforts.

Despite his past legal troubles, including allegations of insider trading, Walters remains an influential figure in the industry. He continues to push for positive change and improvements in how sports betting is regulated and operated. Through the American Bettors’ Voice, Walters and Kyrollos are hoping to make a real difference in the industry and ensure that the voices of American bettors are heard and respected.
