Arkansas Tech University has been awarded a $6.1 million grant to expand its Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) initiative. This grant will allow ATU to offer more resources and support to students in underserved communities, helping them prepare for college and achieve their academic goals.
The GEAR UP program at ATU focuses on providing students with the tools and resources they need to succeed in higher education. This includes academic tutoring, college readiness workshops, financial aid assistance, and mentoring programs. With this new grant funding, ATU will be able to reach even more students and make a greater impact on their educational journeys.
“We are thrilled to receive this grant funding, as it will allow us to expand our GEAR UP program and provide even more support to students in need,” said Dr. Robin E. Bowen, president of Arkansas Tech University. “At ATU, we are committed to helping all students succeed, and this grant will help us further that mission.”
The $6.1 million grant will be distributed over the course of seven years, allowing ATU to reach thousands of students in Arkansas. By offering resources and support through the GEAR UP program, ATU hopes to empower students to pursue higher education and achieve their dreams.
Overall, this grant is a significant investment in the future of Arkansas students, and ATU is excited to see the positive impact it will have on the community. Students who participate in the GEAR UP program at ATU can expect to receive personalized support, guidance, and resources to help them succeed in college and beyond.
