Apple to delay launch of AI-powered features in Europe
Apple has announced that it will be delaying the launch of three new artificial intelligence features in Europe due to regulatory requirements set forth by the European Union. The tech giant stated that it needs to ensure that rival products and services can function with its devices in compliance with the EU’s Digital Markets Act.
The features in question include Phone Mirroring, SharePlay Screen Sharing enhancements, and Apple Intelligence, all of which were set to be rolled out to users in Europe. However, due to uncertainties surrounding the regulations, Apple has decided to postpone their release.
In a statement, Apple expressed concerns that the interoperability requirements of the DMA could compromise the integrity of its products, potentially putting user privacy and data security at risk. The company is currently working with the European Commission to find a solution that would allow them to deliver these features to EU customers without compromising their safety.
This delay comes as Apple continues to emphasize its AI capabilities, with recent announcements of new features and software enhancements for its devices. Despite the setback in Europe, Apple remains committed to providing innovative and secure technology solutions to its customers worldwide.
