Digi Yatra to launch international pilot project in June: CEO Khadakbhavi

Digi Yatra, the ambitious digital travel initiative by the Indian government, is set to take its first international flight in June, according to CEO Khadakbhavi. The project aims to streamline the air travel experience for passengers by using technology to automate processes such as check-in, security clearance, and boarding.

“We are excited to announce that Digi Yatra will be expanding its reach beyond domestic flights and into the international arena,” said Khadakbhavi. “This pilot project will allow us to test the system’s effectiveness in a different setting and gather valuable feedback from passengers and airlines.”

The Digi Yatra program, which was launched in 2018, aims to make air travel more convenient and hassle-free for passengers by reducing paperwork and waiting times. By using biometric technology and a centralized database, passengers can breeze through the airport with just a digital ID and their fingerprints.

The international pilot project is expected to take place at a major airport in June, although the exact location has not been disclosed. Khadakbhavi assured that all necessary security and privacy measures will be in place to protect passengers’ personal information.

With the success of the domestic Digi Yatra program, the government is hopeful that the international expansion will further improve the travel experience for passengers and help boost the aviation industry.
