Erdoğan denounces Netanyahu’s UN speech, slams global inaction: Hurriyet Daily News
In a fiery response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent address at the United Nations General Assembly, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has condemned the speech and criticized the international community for remaining silent on the issue.
During his address, Netanyahu urged the world to take a tougher stance against Iran, accusing the country of harboring nuclear ambitions and supporting terrorism. He also called out Iran’s proxy forces in the region, including Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza.
Erdoğan, however, was quick to denounce Netanyahu’s remarks, accusing him of spreading “lies and false information” in an attempt to distract from Israel’s own actions in the region. The Turkish president also slammed the international community for failing to hold Israel accountable for its alleged human rights abuses and illegal occupation of Palestinian territories.
“We cannot remain silent in the face of such blatant aggression and violations of international law,” Erdoğan declared. “The world must stand up against these injustices and show solidarity with the Palestinian people.”
Erdoğan’s strong words come at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East, with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict once again taking center stage on the global political agenda. As both leaders continue to trade barbs and accusations, the world watches on anxiously, hoping for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis.
