Email to ICC reveals USA Cricket directors accusing chairman of mismanagement

Allegations of Unethical Practices and Corruption Rock USA Cricket Leadership: USAC Directors Accuse Chairman Venu Pisike

The cricket world was rocked by the explosive accusations made by USA Cricket (USAC) directors Kuljit Singh, Arjun Gona, and Patricia Whittaker against USAC chairman Venu Pisike. In a detailed email to the International Cricket Council (ICC), the trio alleged a laundry list of unethical practices, including the wrongful termination of the CEO, creating a hostile work environment, systemic corruption for electoral gains, and other misconduct.

The email, which was sent just after the ICC board meeting in Colombo, painted a damning picture of Pisike and his allies. The directors described various infractions, such as the unauthorized dismissal of CEO Dr Noor Murad, unconstitutional appointments, electoral manipulation, financial opacity, and more.

Singh, Gona, and Whittaker highlighted several key accusations in their email, including unethical termination, hostile work environment, unconstitutional appointments, systemic corruption, and intimidation tactics aimed at silencing dissenting voices. The directors also made specific allegations against Srini Salver, the male player director, accusing him of conflicts of interest and manipulating player selections for personal gain.

The situation escalated further when Singh and Gona were temporarily suspended from USAC following their recurrent dissenting emails to the ICC. The directors claimed that voters were disenfranchised during the constitutional amendment process and that elections were corrupted through biased selection of a membership management company.

Additionally, the email detailed instances of alleged misconduct, including efforts to seek resignations from key staff members due to the toxic work environment fostered by certain board members. USAC has remained silent on the allegations so far, leaving the cricket community on edge.

With the ICC closely monitoring the developments and issuing a suspension warning along with imposing sanctions on USAC, the future of cricket in the US hangs in the balance. The accusations and counterclaims have created a tumultuous situation within USAC, raising questions about the governance and integrity of the sport in the country.
