Louisa Blenman Appointed as Interim Director of International Programs at Florida State University

Florida State University Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Jim Clark, has announced the appointment of Louisa Blenman as the interim director of International Programs. Blenman takes over from Jim Pitts, who retired on June 30 after a remarkable 56-year career at the university.

In his statement, Provost Clark expressed his appreciation for Blenman’s leadership and highlighted the importance of International Programs in providing study abroad opportunities and global experiential learning experiences for FSU students.

With over 30 years of experience in international education, Blenman has been a part of FSU International Programs since 2004 and has served as the associate director since 2018. She is also actively involved in various boards of charities and foundations associated with FSU’s international study centers.

Blenman expressed her excitement for the new role and stated her commitment to building upon the current successes of International Programs. She also mentioned her eagerness to collaborate with campus leaders to enhance global initiatives and support university priorities.

Prior to her tenure at International Programs, Blenman spent a decade working in study abroad in London, following a prestigious internship at the Fulbright Commission. She is a proud two-time graduate of FSU, earning a Master’s in Higher Education from the College of Education and an MBA from the College of Business.
