Xian Zhang Named Music Director of Seattle Symphony for 2025-26 Season
After an extensive search for a new music director, the Seattle Symphony has announced that Xian Zhang will take on the role starting with the 2025-26 season. This appointment marks a historic moment for the orchestra, as Zhang will be the first female conductor to lead the Seattle Symphony.
Zhang brings a wealth of experience and talent to the position, having previously served as the music director of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi.
