Director Shawn Levy and actor Ryan Gosling announced the upcoming film “Star Wars: Starfighter” at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo. Set five years after “The Rise of Skywalker,” the standalone film features an original story and characters, with production starting this fall and a release date of May 28, 2027. Levy’s 21 Laps Entertainment also named Robert Atwood as head of television. Meanwhile, Lucasfilm continues to develop additional Star Wars projects by various filmmakers.
