Sports champion excels and earns acceptance into top US university

Saher Adukia: Using Athletic Talent and Leadership to Make a Difference

Saher Adukia, a student at Gems Wellington International, is not your typical high school athlete. She has used her athletic talent and leadership skills to make a positive impact in her community, setting a new standard for Dubai students.

Saher’s dedication to sports has been evident throughout her high school career. Not only has she excelled in basketball, netball, football, and rounders, but she has also achieved a black belt in Taekwondo. However, she noticed a lack of opportunities for students with disabilities in the sporting arena, prompting her to take action.

Together with a peer, Saher founded Born to Sport and its signature event, the Cup, to promote inclusivity and diversity in sports. The initiative has been a huge success, attracting numerous participants and spawning similar programs across the UAE.

But Saher’s achievements extend beyond the sports field. With guidance from Hale Education Group, she meticulously crafted an impressive applicant profile that led to acceptances from top universities like UC Berkeley, USC, and Carnegie Mellon. Ultimately, she chose to pursue a degree in Computational Finance and Business Administration at Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business.

Saher’s story showcases the power of sports not only in shaping individuals but also in creating positive change in society. Her counselors at Hale Education Group commend her for her achievements and look forward to her future success as a leader in the business world.
