Introducing Yuanrong Gao: New International Student Advisor at Seton Hall University

Seton Hall University is excited to announce the arrival of Yuanrong Gao as the new International Student Advisor. With a background as an international student herself, Yuanrong brings a unique perspective and a wealth of experience to her new role.

Having pursued her master’s degree at Adelphi University in the United States, Yuanrong understands the challenges that international students face when studying abroad. With over a decade of experience in teaching and advising in K-12 education, she has now transitioned to higher education, fulfilling her long-held aspiration.

Mary Kate Naatus, Ph.D., assistant provost and dean of Continuing Education and Professional Studies, expressed her excitement about Yuanrong joining the advising team. She highlighted Yuanrong’s personal experience as an international student, which adds invaluable insight and empathy to her role.

In her position, Yuanrong provides comprehensive support and advice on a variety of issues, such as employment, visas, enrollment, and travel. Her deep understanding of the challenges faced by international students allows her to offer personalized guidance, ensuring that each student receives the assistance they need to succeed academically and personally.

Outside of work, Yuanrong is a dedicated pet owner and an avid traveler, continuously seeking new experiences and cultures to enrich her understanding of the world. Her commitment to individualized advising aims to help students achieve their academic and personal goals, making their journey at Seton Hall as smooth and rewarding as possible.
