Meghan Markle’s father expresses concern over what Archie and Lilibet will come to understand ‘in the coming years’

Thomas Markle expresses sadness over Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet being denied royal events due to ‘birthright’

Thomas Markle, father of Meghan Markle, is speaking out about his sorrow over not being able to meet his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and their absence from royal events. Thomas, who is estranged from his daughter Meghan, expressed his sadness at being denied the opportunity to see his grandchildren experience the Royal lifestyle they are entitled to.

Living in Rosarito, Mexico, Thomas finds it difficult to comprehend that he has not yet met his son-in-law, Prince Harry, and his grandchildren, residing approximately 400km away. In an interview with New Zealand Woman’s Weekly, Thomas shared his desire to establish a connection with King Charles, emphasizing the importance of family ties and expressing his hope for even a simple photograph to bring him joy.

With Prince William’s children participating in prominent royal events, such as the recent Trooping the Colour ceremony, Thomas expressed his empathy for his own grandchildren missing out on such experiences. As Archie and Lilibet grow older, Thomas worries about how they will perceive the absence of certain family traditions and connections in their lives.

The news comes amidst reports that King Charles is eager to visit his youngest grandchildren in California to forge a friendly relationship with them. Thomas, approaching his 80th birthday, longs for reconciliation with Meghan, although he holds doubts about the possibility of her reaching out to him. Their strained relationship stems from past controversies and events leading up to Meghan’s wedding in 2018.

As Thomas Markle yearns to meet his grandchildren and mend his relationship with his daughter, the story highlights the complexities of family dynamics and the longing for familial connections, even in the most high-profile of circumstances.
