King Philip DECA Program Shines at International Conference

WRENTHAM — The King Philip DECA program has once again proven its excellence in the world of business education. The program returned from the DECA International Conference as champions, making a mark not only in Massachusetts but across the country.

With 66 members in attendance at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, Calif., King Philip DECA stood out among the other schools in the state. The program had the most students qualify for the event from Massachusetts and also received the most international honors from a school in the state.

One of the highlights of their success was being the only chapter in Massachusetts to win a first place Glass Trophy at the competition. The students showcased their talents after participating in the state conference in March, where they qualified for the international competition.

Several King Philip DECA students received international honors in different categories, including first place in Hospitality and Tourism Operation Research, second place in Business Services Operations Research, and third place in Franchise Business Plan. Additionally, teams from King Philip DECA excelled in Integrated Marketing Campaign Service and Start-up Business Plan categories.

The program’s Marketing Coordinator, James Dow, expressed his gratitude for all the support that helped the students achieve these incredible honors throughout the year.

DECA’s competitive events program aims to simulate real-life business scenarios and test students’ academic understanding and skill development. The top association winners compete at the DECA International Career Development Conference, where over 22,000 students vie for international honors and scholarships.

In addition to the competitions, DECA members also engaged in leadership academies and networking opportunities with internationally recognized businesses and universities. The success of King Philip DECA at the international level is a testament to the hard work and dedication of its students and faculty.
