Keegan Bradley to Captain Team USA in 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black

Keegan Bradley has been named as the Team USA captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, as confirmed by the PGA of America. The former PGA champion will take over from Zach Johnson, who led Team USA in their defeat against Team Europe last September.

Bradley, who made his Ryder Cup debut in 2012 and also played in the 2014 contest, narrowly missed out on a captain’s pick for the 2023 event. Despite not having served as part of the backroom team before, Bradley expressed his honor and excitement at the opportunity to lead Team USA in the prestigious biennial competition.

With six PGA Tour victories under his belt, including the 2023 Travelers Championship, Bradley will have the task of regaining the Ryder Cup trophy on home soil and avoiding back-to-back defeats. PGA of America President John Lindert expressed confidence in Bradley’s leadership, highlighting his past Ryder Cup experience, strong relationships, and passion for the event.

In the meantime, speculation surrounded the possibility of Tiger Woods becoming the Team USA captain, with talks being held between Woods and the PGA of America. However, Woods expressed concerns about committing to the role due to other off-course responsibilities, leading to the decision to appoint Bradley as captain.

On the other side, former world No 1 Luke Donald will return as Europe’s captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup, with Thomas Bjorn, Edoardo Molinari, and Paul McGinley also playing key roles in the European team’s backroom staff.

The Ryder Cup is set to be a thrilling event once again, with Sky Sports continuing to be the home of the competition, broadcasting all three days exclusively live from September 26-28 next year. Fans can look forward to another exciting edition of this prestigious golf event.
