Katy Perry Makes a Bold Statement with New Single “Woman’s World”
Katy Perry Makes a Triumphant Return with New Single “Woman’s World”
It’s Katy Perry’s world, and we’re lucky to be living in it. The pop star, 39, marked her comeback on Thursday, July 11, with the release of a new single and music video titled “Woman’s World.”
The video showcases Perry and a group of dancers dressed in construction work attire, challenging the typical “male gaze” narrative. They dance in synchronicity, wearing American flag-inspired bejeweled bikinis, and declare “It’s a woman’s world and you’re lucky to be living in it” during the chorus.
The video takes an unexpected turn when Perry gets crushed by an anvil and awakens on a beach in a new era where women seem to have taken over the streets. She embarks on a wild adventure with Trisha Paytas, riding in a monster truck and performing a TikTok with a stranger while declaring, “I’m Katy Perry.”
The release of “Woman’s World” precedes Perry’s upcoming sixth studio album, “143,” set to be released on September 20. The album, coded as “I Love You,” is Perry’s first new project since 2020’s “Smile.”
Teasing the new single on Instagram, Perry shared album art featuring her in a knit white bikini with robotic chaps, setting the stage for a bold and celebratory comeback.
Fans have been eagerly anticipating new music from Perry following her departure from “American Idol” earlier this year after seven seasons as a judge. The singer expressed her need to “go out and feel that pulse to my own beat” during a February appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Perry’s inspirational journey and empowerment shine through in “Woman’s World,” as she shared her newfound sense of power and fearlessness following the birth of her daughter, Daisy, with fiancé Orlando Bloom in August 2020.
As she continues to conquer the music scene with her latest release, Katy Perry proves that she is back and stronger than ever, ready to inspire and uplift her fans with her powerful message of feminine empowerment.
