Indian films are making their mark on the North American box office as Nag Ashwin’s Telugu dystopian sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD and Diljit Dosanjh-starrer Punjabi romantic comedy Jatt & Juliet 3 have joined the top 10 weekend performers, according to Deadline. Kalki 2898 AD, praised as the most expensive Indian film to date, secured the #5 spot with a three-day weekend earning of $5.4 million, bringing its total to $11 million in North America. Meanwhile, Jatt & Juliet 3 garnered $1.8 million over the weekend, claiming the #9 spot and reaching a total of $1.9 million. The success of these films reflects the growing popularity of Indian cinema in the international market.

In contrast, Hollywood saw Disney Pixar’s Inside Out 2 dominate the box office with an additional $57.4 million over the weekend, pushing its cumulative North American total to $469.3 million. A Quiet Place: Day One followed closely behind at the #2 spot, earning $53 million in its opening weekend. The thriller also achieved a global opening of $99 million, making it the highest-grossing installment in the franchise. Amidst these blockbuster releases, Indian films continue to shine, proving their relevance and appeal to audiences worldwide.
