Ironstone Concours Foundation Receives International Award for 2023 Ironstone Concours d’Elegance

Ironstone Concours Foundation Wins International Concours Initiative of the Year Award for 2023 Event

The Ironstone Concours Foundation has been named the recipient of the prestigious Concours Initiative of the Year award for their 2023 Ironstone Concours d’Elegance. This award, selected by the staff of the Concours Yearbook produced by Hothouse Media (Magneto Magazine), recognizes Ironstone’s efforts to provide a unique and special experience for attendees.

One of the key highlights of the 2023 event was the re-creation of a race from 100 years ago on a dirt track built by Ironstone Winery for vintage race cars. This special feature, organized by the Ragtime Racers, allowed hundreds of spectators to witness racing as it was in period and added an exciting element to the weekend.

Brian Blain, the leader of the Ragtime Racers, expressed his gratitude for the support and enthusiasm they received from Ironstone. He highlighted the Ironstone Concours as their most important and unique event of the year, as it is the only Concours in the country that provides a track for race exhibitions, giving spectators the opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of vintage racing.

The 28th Annual Ironstone Concours d’Elegance is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys, California. The event will feature over 300 antique and classic cars, as well as vintage trailers and motorcycles, offering a nostalgic journey through automotive history.

In addition to the car show, attendees can enjoy other activities throughout the weekend, such as the Vintage Backroads Tour on Friday morning and the Cars and Stars dinner on Friday evening. The tour will take participants on a scenic route through Calaveras County, while the dinner will offer wine tasting, a delicious buffet, and a lively auction.

The Ironstone Concours d’Elegance Foundation, created by John and Gail Kautz 27 years ago, has raised over $1 million to benefit young people in agriculture, including 4-H Clubs, Future Farmers of America, and the California State Fair Scholarship Fund. Through the proceeds from the Concours, the foundation has made significant contributions to support agricultural education programs.
