Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the “Aasan Qarza Program” (easy loan program) for youth on Tuesday, TV channel 24News HD reported on Tuesday.
The prime minister announced that under this scheme, his government would provide an easy loan of 0.5 to 1.5 million rupees.
Prime Minister Shehbaz made the announcement during his speech at the Youth Easy Loans Scheme ceremony in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Youth will receive interest-free loans of up to Rs 0.5 million and Rs 0.5 million to Rs 1.5 million at an interest rate of 7 percent, the prime minister said, adding that these loans would be repaid within seven years.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said there was a political price to pay for saving Pakistan, and he was willing to sacrifice his political earnings to do so.
The prime minister said he was ready to give his life for his homeland. He also said that Pakistan’s military governments are also responsible for the current state of affairs in the country.
Speaking of a loan from the International Monitoring Fund (IMF), Prime Minister Shehbaz said they wanted to complete the ninth review with the organization soon.
He also added that they had sent a message to the IMF to meet the conditions for the country to move forward.
The Prime Minister said that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) wanted more to raise the base interest rate.
