Lebanon: The then prime minister, two former ministers, the attorney general and three other judges have been indicted over the 2020 bombing in the capital city of Beirut.
According to foreign media reports, then-Prime Minister Hassan Diab and two other ministers were accused of bloodshed in the case of the explosion in Beirut. While 15 Farad, including top security officials, have also been investigated, the allegations against the Prosecutor General, the other 3 judges, have not been clarified.
Chief Investigating Judge Tariq Beitar resumed the investigation yesterday after a year. The investigation into the Beirut outbreak stalled for more than a year due to political resistance from ruling factions and legal challenges to Chief Investigating Judge Tariq Beitar. They suffer from an impasse.
It should be noted that the explosion was caused by hundreds of tons of ammonium nitrate in the port of Beirut in 2020, which killed 220 people and injured more than 6,500.
