Islamabad High Court (Daily Pakistan Online) rejected customs appeal against vehicle with false number plate, Judge Qazi Faiz Isa making remarks said amnesty sank Pakistan fleet, vehicles cannot be stopped so amnesty was granted.
As reported by the private TV channel Dunya News, a hearing was held in the Supreme Court on the appeal of the customs office against a vehicle with false registration plates. The court stated that the right to grant an amnesty rests with the parliament or provincial assembly. Judge Qazi Faiz Isa said as the vehicle arrived in the city. There is no answer.
The court, in conversation with a customs lawyer, stated that customs officers should take over their duties and end the case.
Judge Qazi Faiz Isa, while making remarks, said that the amnesty sank Pakistan’s fleet, the vehicles cannot be impounded, so they grant an amnesty, the court asked how amnesty could be granted under the customs law, the appeal of the customs court was rejected.
