ANTALYA, (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News/WAM – January 9, 2023) Dr. Nidal Mohammed Al Tunaiji, Head of the United Arab Emirates Parliamentary Division of the Asian Parliamentary Association (APA), and Mohammed Issa, Vice-President of the Division, attended the 18th APA General Assembly held today in Antalya, Turkey.
During the speech of the Al Tunaiji group, he spoke about ways to strengthen pluralism within the changing dynamics of the world and noted that current challenges and crises underline the urgent need to promote multilateral diplomacy in resolving international crises.
She also noted that the UAE believes that the pluralism of various global players must be based on the values of tolerance and human fraternity, emphasizing the importance of interfaith dialogue and agreeing on common values. In this framework, she noted the signing of the Human Fraternity Document in Abu Dhabi in February 2019.
It also reaffirmed the urgent need to revive pluralism and trust in the United Nations (UN), the entity that brings together the countries of the world and the international community to face the most pressing challenges, in particular climate change, international terrorism, new pandemics and nuclear weapons. .
The UAE Parliamentary Division stressed the importance of respecting international laws, agreements and treaties, including the United Nations Charter, UN Security Council resolutions and international humanitarian law, as well as cooperating to maintain international peace and security.
The meeting elected the official members of the assembly, discussed and approved the report of the chairman of the board and the report of the secretary general on the activities of the association.
