Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf made recommendations for the withdrawal of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies. According to sources, both assemblies were disbanded by December 20 during a political situation review at a PTI high-level committee meeting chaired by party vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi. Mian Aslam Iqbal, Mahmood Al Rashid, Hamad Azhar, Ijaz Chaudhry and other members attended the meeting. While most of them recommended dissolving assemblies by December 20, some members advised against dissolving assemblies immediately. Sources It is said that when expressing some reservations on behalf of such members, it was said that when playing political cards one should be mindful of time. According to the members, the dissolution of the assemblies should take place at a time when it is possible to increase the pressure for the dissolution of the federal and two-provincial assemblies. Tenderings worth billions of rupees have now been awarded for development works in constituencies, it should also be taken into account that many government projects are in the final stages of implementation.
