(Web Desk) Lahore High Court issued written order requesting removal of Imran Khan as Chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaf, Justice Sajid Mehmood Shetty issued a 3-page written order at the request of Mohammad Afaq Advocate.
In the written order, Justice Sajid Mehmood Shetty sought to know whether Article 63 1P of the Constitution provides for temporary disqualification of a Member of Parliament and an officer of a political party. Should the petitioner approach the Election Commission to remove Imran Khan from the party post? The petition raises serious constitutional questions.
Attorney General of Pakistan and Advocate General of Punjab should assist in explaining constitutional and legal points. The court also issued notices to the Chairman Election Commission, Federal Government, Imran Khan and other parties. Further hearing of the case has been adjourned. 11 November. Imran Khan has been requested to be removed from the post of party chairman.
