No action even after 15 days – Complaint to Urban Development Department
Dombivly- Land mafias have constructed flats on the roof of an illegal building on government land at Gopinath Chowk in Devichapara, Dombivli West. Dombivli’s mafias have started a new method of constructing terraced flats. A vigilant resident has given complaints and reminder letters to the Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner of this ward to take action against the construction in the balcony to prevent such illegal construction. Still, the residents of the area are expressing surprise that no action has been taken against this illegal construction.

Last week, Assistant Commissioner Sandeep Rokede and the encroachment control team went to demolish the illegal flats on the roof of Sri Sadguru Prasad Illegal Building at Gopinath Chowk. There was police presence there. Residents of the area said that the team stayed at the construction site for 10 minutes and returned without taking any action. It is reported that no action was taken due to the political pressure of the mafia on the authorities.
Commissioner Dr. Bhausaheb Dangde directed the Assistant Commissioner to take action as soon as the complaint of illegal construction is received. Swati Deshpande has been appointed Independent Deputy Commissioner for Dombivli Circle to prevent illegal construction in Dombivli. Sudhakar Jagtap is working as Divisional Deputy Commissioner in Encroachment Control Department. Kaustubh Gokhale, a citizen who complained in the case, expressed his anger that no action was taken against the illegal terrace flats by the ward’s Assistant Commissioner Rokde while senior officials were working to prevent illegal construction. “If the construction is demolished, otherwise we will demand action from the commissioner to Urban Development Principal Secretary Sonia Shetty,” Gokhale said.

We filed a complaint when construction work was going on at the verandah of Sri Sadguru Prasad Society. Without intentionally noticing. Assistant Commissioner Roked completed the construction work. Plaintiff said that there is something wrong in it. The complainant said that Additional Commissioner Mangesh Chitale took serious notice of the illegal construction in the verandah and made a proposal to the Commissioner to take action against those concerned.
Last week Deputy Commissioner Sudhakar Jagtap told ‘Loksatta’ that Assistant Commissioners will be directed to demolish illegal structures on the roofs of illegal buildings. The complainant expressed anger that his order was also cancelled. There is a strong discussion among the mafia in the Devichapada area that Daulatzada was done to prevent the demolition of the roof structure. No one is talking about it publicly.
Assistant Commissioner Rokde said that the operation to eviction of illegal structures in the ward is going on.
Sparkling on the occasion of Diwali
On the occasion of Diwali, sky lanterns and flashing electric lights are lit up around the illegal constructions on the verandas. Gokhale, the complainant in this case, said that these lamps are lit at night and throughout the day.
