Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif named Ishaq Dar as the new finance minister after Miftah Ismail resigned from his post in London on Sunday.
According to 24 News HD TV channel, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail submitted his resignation letter to his party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif in London.
He submitted his resignation in an important party meeting presided over by Mian Nawaz Sharif which was also attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz and other leaders.
The overall political and national situation of the country was discussed in detail in the meeting and after a long discussion, Miftah submitted his resignation letter to his party supremo.
Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz appreciated Miftah Ismail’s efforts to carry out the duties in the most difficult financial situation of the country.
In the meeting, Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif nominated Senator Ishaq Dar as the Finance Minister.
