Chief Justice Omar Ata Bandial said, political leadership must negotiate for political stability, political problems can be solved only through negotiation.
Addressing the 9th International Judicial Conference in Islamabad, Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandyal said that the holding of the International Judicial Conference would help improve the judicial system.
The Chief Justice said that the recent floods have caused massive devastation in Pakistan and the Judiciary is playing a role in mitigating the suffering of the victims. He said that the constitution guarantees the protection of the fundamental rights of the people, the constitution is the mouthpiece of the public aspirations of Pakistan.
The Chief Justice said that the Constitution has been observed in the Yusuf Raza Geelani case, the court annulled the judgment of the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly and enforced the Constitution. In the conference, the Chief Justice said that the stability of democracy is related to the rule of law and the constitution. Human rights, and good governance are also part of the rule of law.
Regarding the pending cases, the Chief Justice said measures are being taken to reduce the burden of cases, the judiciary is determined to protect the constitution, the day is not far when Pakistan will become a developed nation.
The Chief Justice said that the Judiciary cannot solve all the problems alone, all the constitutional institutions including the Judiciary must fulfill their duties properly.
