Electricity price for domestic consumers increased by Rs 4.10 per unit ThePipaNews

The federal government has further hiked the price of electricity for domestic consumers by Rs 4.10 per unit, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

According to government sources, a new tariff, including an increase in basic electricity tariff from 37 paise to Rs 4.10, will come into effect from October.

From next month, electricity consumers will be billed based on the most expensive tariff.

As per details, 200 unit electricity users will be billed Rs 18.95 per unit instead of Rs 18.58 per unit.

Those using 201 to 300 units of electricity will be billed Rs 22.14 per unit instead of Rs 21.47 per unit.

Those who consume 301 to 400 units of electricity will be billed Rs 25.53 per unit instead of Rs 24.63 per unit.

Those using 401 to 500 units of electricity will be billed Rs 27.74 per unit instead of Rs 26.09 per unit.

Those using 501 to 600 units of electricity will be billed Rs 29.16 per unit instead of Rs 27.01.

Those using 601 to 700 units of electricity will be billed Rs 30.30 per unit instead of Rs 27.65.

Electricity users above 700 units will be billed Rs 35.22 per unit instead of Rs 31.12 per unit.

A three-phase meter will charge Rs 28.07 per unit during off-peak hours instead of Rs 24.91.

For peak hours, electricity will be sold at Rs 34.39 per unit instead of Rs 33.23.

Domestic customers with single and three phase meters will be charged this tariff from October.

Fuel price adjustment and other taxes including GST will be charged separately.
